Are there any pubs nearby?

Yes. There are two within walking distance the closest is less than 5 minutes away and both serve food. A brisk 45 minute walk will start you on a pub crawl down the local high street but book a taxi back!

What is the access like?

Please be aware that the Junction leading to our lane requires either a U turn or an extended journey to a suitable turning point or roundabout  when approached from the A46. See our How to Find Us Page for more details. Hill Lane is a single track lane and you only need to travel approximately 200M before finding the access gate on the left. We have accepted tag axle nearly 9M vehicles in the past, note that the gate is at a slight angle to assist access, ensure the field gate is fully open before entry is attempted.

Can we bring a dog?

We welcome up to two well behaved dogs per van. Due to livestock nearby, they must be kept on the lead at all times. Any dog poo must be cleaned up immediately and owners not adhering to this will be asked to leave. We provide a dog septic tank for your bio degradable bags by the entrance steps to the woods.  Please Note - due to exclusions in our insurance policy we are unable to accept any breed included in the Dangerous Dogs Act.

 

Do we have to be members of Motorhome Fun to stay at your site?

No. But if you are a member please inform us of your user name.

Do you have any hard standing or serviced pitches?

Not at the moment but may look at this in the future.

Do you have electric hookup?

We don't. Some solar lamps are provided around the campsite, but please bring torches. There are also no street lamps in the lane, (great for star gazing), so please take a torch if you plan to walk to the pub and return after dark.

Can we empty the contents of our black waste tank on site?

We offer a Chemical Waste Disposal Point for cassettes only, we can not facilitate the emptying of fixed tanks.

Can we use a barbecue?

Yes, you can use a gas or charcoal barbecue provided it is well off the ground and fully extinguished before you retire for the evening.

Cold used charcoal must be disposed of in the metal bin provided in the refuse area. 

 

Can we have an open fire?

Only if it is supplied by us, we can provide a small portable fire pit and logs for an evening for a small additional charge.

Cold ashes must be disposed of in the metal bin provided in the refuse area.

Can we bring an awning?

Yes you can and it is included in the cost, however any ground sheet or carpet used must be of the breathable type.

If you don't have an awning we can offer you a Quest Screen House Pro 6 for hire at £40.

Can we bring an additional vehicle?

You can, but please advise us  before your visit.

​

 

 

Our van Sleeps four or more can we invite friends to stay?

Our charges are based on two adults per van, additional guests will be charged at £4 per night.

Please contact us before booking if there will be more than four of you staying.

Can we have day visitors?

Only if this is pre arranged with us..

Are the pitches level?

Being honest, gently sloping but well drained grass pitches.

​

Is there a bus stop or train station nearby?

There are two bus stops, one is a five minute walk and the other is about a fifteen minute walk. Yate train station is around 4 miles from the site.

Is LPG available nearby?

We believe the closest is Asda and Morrison's at Cribbs Causeway BS34 5TL and BS10 7UD. You can also try Bristol Gas at Victoria Road, Saint Philips, Bristol. BS2 0UT. Gordano Services M5 junction 19 Portbury BS20 7XG also frequently have supplies but ring any of these suggestions before you set off.

Can we hire the site for exclusive use?

Assuming Covid regulations allow, you can have exclusive 3 night use of the site for up to 5 motorhomes (5 Van Mini Meet)  for £220, additional nights charged at £70 per night. Enhance your stay by hiring our a 6m x 3m (20ft x 10ft) Gazebo (see gallery) for an extra £100. Or 6m x 6m for £160 (20ft x 20ft). We can also offer a Quest Screen House Pro 6 for hire at £40. Supervised children would also be allowed for this type of booking, contact us for more details and to check availability.

For larger groups you will require your own rally exemption certificate and insurance. Pricing will be dependent on group size - please contact us to discuss your specific requirements and check availability.
